R.I.P. Volume

Whilst Hollywood's glam voluminous locks have always been the source of our envy, the past seasons fashion week's have shown us that flat hair is taking the main stage now.

We have slowly seen 'easy', 'effortless', 'undone' hair coming in but now we have full on limp flat hair seen on almost every runway this past season. Whilst this hair emphasizes the face and looked beautiful and edgy on so many models, I'm actually not too sure about how I feel about this trend. I love it when I see it all over tumblr and style.com but when thinking of it on a larger scale it's not so great for those who don't actually have fine, thin hair to begin with. Or even for black models with natural hair like Phillip Picardi at Refinery29 pointed out during NYFW.

He's quite right if you think about it, this hairstyle isn't so accomodating diversely, as many ethnicities don't naturally have thin, limp hair. This just goes to show how our beauty ideals are moulded, but overall this look is very pretty. Here are some examples of the different takes on this trend at fashion week.
